Buffalonians grapple with mental health after recent tragedies

The injury of Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin is just the latest tragedy to hit the city of Buffalo and the region. At least 40 people were killed in the Christmas weekend blizzard and five children died after a New Year’s Eve fire in the city’s university district. All of this as Buffalo continues to recover from the racially motivated mass shooting at the Tops market that claimed 10 lives and wounded three others in May.

How do Western New Yorkers even begin the healing process when we’ve had one tragedy after another?
